Introduction to the Workshop

FIZ Robotic Solutions (FRS) is proud to present an exclusive series of free certified workshops aimed at enriching the learning experience of students across India. These workshops are designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to robotics and automation, featuring two key topics: Pick & Place Robots and Line Follower Robots.

Pick & Place Robot: Explore the fundamentals of automation with Pick & Place robots, which are crucial in manufacturing and assembly processes. This session will cover the design, programming, and operational aspects of these robots, offering hands-on experience with real-world applications.

Line Follower Robot: Delve into the technology behind Line Follower robots, which are pivotal in automated navigation and control systems. Participants will learn about sensor integration, programming techniques, and the practical challenges of developing robots that follow predefined paths.

Rules & Regulations

Eligibility: The workshop is open to all schools and colleges across India. Each institution must meet the basic technical requirements and logistical needs as outlined by FRS.

Participation: Students participating in the workshop must register in advance and adhere to the schedule provided. Participation is limited to the number of slots available per institution.

Conduct: Participants are expected to maintain professionalism and adhere to the workshop’s code of conduct. Disruptive behaviour or non-compliance with instructions will not be tolerated.

Certification: Free certification will be awarded upon successful completion of the workshop. Certificates will be issued based on active participation and performance in practical sessions.

Safety: All safety protocols must be followed during the workshop. FRS will provide guidelines and ensure that all equipment is handled safely and appropriately.

Feedback: Participants and institutions are encouraged to provide feedback on the workshop to help us improve future sessions.

Enrollment Procedure For School

Registration: Schools interested in hosting the workshop should complete the online registration form available on our website.

Selection Process: Upon receipt of the registration form, FRS will review and confirm the school’s eligibility to host the workshop based on available slots and logistical considerations.

Workshop Scheduling: Once selected, the school will be contacted to finalise the workshop dates and logistical arrangements.

Preparation: Schools will receive detailed instructions and support materials to prepare for the workshop, including technical requirements and participant guidelines.

Enrollment Procedure For College

Application: Colleges should submit an application through the dedicated portal on our website, providing details about their technical infrastructure and student interest.

Approval: Applications will be reviewed, and colleges will be selected based on their capacity to facilitate the workshop and their commitment to technology education.

Coordination: Successful applicants will be contacted to arrange the workshop dates, venue, and required resources.

Zonal Competition

The Zonal Competitions are an exciting continuation of the FIZ Robotic Solutions workshop series, offering students the opportunity to apply their skills in a competitive setting. These competitions provide a platform for students to demonstrate their proficiency in building and programming Pick & Place Robots and Line Follower Robots. The top performers from these regional contests will advance to the grand finale at Techfest IIT Bombay, where they will compete on a national stage.

Enrollment Procedure for Zonal

The Zonal Competitions are an exciting continuation of the FIZ Robotic Solutions workshop series, offering students the opportunity to apply their skills in a competitive setting. These competitions provide a platform for students to demonstrate their proficiency in building and programming Pick & Place Robots and Line Follower Robots. The top performers from these regional contests will advance to the grand finale at Techfest IIT Bombay, where they will compete on a national stage.

For Schools

  • Registration: Schools must register their participating teams through the dedicated online portal after the workshop. Each school can enroll multiple teams, subject to availability.
  • Selection: Teams will be selected based on their performance in the workshop and the number of available slots in the zonal competition.
  • Confirmation: Selected teams will receive a confirmation email with details about the competition date, venue, and further instructions.

For Colleges

  • Application: Colleges should submit their teams for the zonal competition through the online application form provided post-workshop.
  • Evaluation: Applications will be evaluated based on team readiness and previous performance during the workshop.
  • Notification: Colleges will be notified of their teams’ selection and will receive detailed information about the competition schedule and requirements.

Rules & Regulations

Eligibility: Only teams that have participated in the FRS workshop are eligible for the zonal competitions. Each team must comprise students from the same institution.

Team Composition: Teams must adhere to the maximum number of participants allowed per team as specified by the competition guidelines.

Kit Usage: Only the components provided in the official competition kit or approved alternatives may be used. Unauthorised modifications or use of unapproved parts will result in disqualification.

Code of Conduct: All participants must exhibit professionalism and adhere to the competition’s code of conduct. Respect towards judges, competitors, and fellow participants is mandatory.

Safety: Safety protocols must be followed rigorously. Participants are responsible for ensuring that all equipment is handled safely and in accordance with provided guidelines.

Judging Criteria: Judging will be based on several factors, including robot functionality, design innovation, and adherence to the competition rules. Judges’ decisions are final and binding.

Dispute Resolution: Any disputes or issues arising during the competition will be addressed by the competition organisers. Participants are expected to follow the resolution process outlined by the organisers.

For Pick & Place Robot

  • Kit Components: The Pick & Place Robot kit includes all necessary components such as motors, sensors, controllers, and structural parts required for assembling and programming the robot.
  • Purchase Procedure: Kits can be purchased from our approved vendors or directly from the FRS online store. Detailed instructions for assembly and programming will be included with the kit.

For Line Follower Robot

  • Kit Components: The Line Follower Robot kit features sensors, motors, a microcontroller, and other essential parts needed to build and program the robot.
  • Purchase Procedure: Teams can purchase the kit through our online store or from authorized suppliers. The kit will come with comprehensive guides and resources to assist in development.

Grand Finale

Introduction

The Grand Finale is the pinnacle of the FIZ Robotic Solutions workshop series, where top-performing teams from the zonal competitions converge at Techfest IIT Bombay, one of Asia’s largest and most prestigious technology festivals. This grand event offers an exceptional platform for students to showcase their skills on an international stage, engage with cutting-edge technology, and connect with industry leaders.
